HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?
The first session will be an "intake session," wherein Dr. Powless will meet with the client to conduct an interview and get a full assessment of what has brought the client to seek sport psychology services and develop a plan for future meetings. The first meeting lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 minutes. Subsequent sessions are typically 50 minutes and are focused on helping clients to put actionable steps in place to improve their mental health and/or performance.
DO YOU OFFER REMOTE SESSIONS/ONLINE SESSIONS?
Yes, VPS can meet with individuals and provide services through our teleconsultation sessions. For clients outside of Indiana, ability to provide remote services vary depending on the presenting concern. If you would like to ask more about remote services, reach out to VPS directly and we'll work with you to see if we are able to meet your needs.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU MEET WITH CLIENTS?
Frequency of meetings are up to the client and collaboratively discussed on an ongoing basis. Clients are welcome to meet as frequently as they would like, however, VPS does not typically meet with clients more than once a week.
DO YOU MEET WITH KIDS OR ADULTS?
VPS will meet with both kids and adults. However, services are not typically offered for individuals under 13 years-old.
